The Governing Body of AIREA serves as the supreme decision-making authority of the organization. As of FY 2025–26, it comprises 49 committed and dedicated members with a strong knowledge base, collectively supporting the industry in promoting India’s external trade in rice. The Governing Body is responsible for formulating policies, taking strategic decisions, and overseeing the overall operations of AIREA. .

Members of the Governing Body are entrusted with ensuring that the organization functions in alignment with its mission and objectives, while upholding transparency, accountability, and industry best practices.

In addition to its critical advisory role in the activities and functions of AIREA, the Governing Body, through its various committees, enables a focused and structured approach to addressing key trade-related issues. These committees also support the AIREA Secretariat in the effective and meaningful delivery of its services to members and stakeholders.
